What is DIOXIN?

AGENT ORANGE : It is one of the herbicides and defoliants used by the U.S military as part of its herbicidal warfare program, Operation Ranch Hand, during the Vietnam War (1961 - 1971)

VIETNAM WAR : It was a cold war era that occurred in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia from 1 November 1955 to the fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975. The Vietnamese called it American War.

DIOXIN : A diverse range of chemical compounds which are known to exhibit 'dioxin-like' toxicity

So back to my question. What was the similarities between those two? Check this out.

During the Vietnam War, the U.S military sprayed nearly 20,000,000 U.S gallons of Agent Orange that contains tetrachlorodibenzo - p - dioxin(also called DIOXIN) to defoliate forested land.

What happened to the Vietnamese?

3 million Vietnamese people have been affected by AGENT ORANGE
At least 150,000 CHILDREN BORN WITH BIRTH DEFECTS
Women had HIGHER RATES OF MISCARRIAGES
1 MILLION PEOPLE ARE DISABLED DUE TO CONTAMINATED AGENT ORANGE

I can't even look at the pictures.
They exist.
Its so surreal and sad :(

You may think that we are living in a world of dioxin-free.

Haha.

No we're not.

Especially ladies.

Who hits puberty.

Mothers, sisters, wives.

We have been using sanitary pads for so many years without knowing the dangers of using them.

Dioxin is used in the process of making sanitary pads.

Worst horror story.

Ever.

Ju-On can suck it.

EVEN VANISHINGLY SMALL QUANTITIES OF DIOXIN CAN CAUSE ADVERSE HEALTH EFFECTS.

THE NATIONAL TOXICOLOGY PROGRAM HAS CLASSIFIED DIOXIN AS A HUMAN CARCINOGEN; FREQUENTLY ASSOCIATED WITH HODGKIN'S LYMPHOMA AND LYMPHATIC LEUKEMIA.

So how can we, women especially, live dioxin-free starting from today?
You can start by choosing the right sanitary pads.

Pagi ni Noly nak sembang sikit pasal tuala wanita BIO SELEZA , yang baru sahaja company launched :)

For ladies out there, pernah tak cek tuala wanita yg kita guna? Pernah tak cek kandungan pad tu sendiri, expiry date dia, and pernah tak terfikir proses pembuatan pad tu? For me, I did think about some of these, but it just stopped right there. Tak rasa lah yg pad ni sampai boleh membahayakan kesihatan. Tapi sekarang, haishh..memang takut lah nak guna tuala wanita yg ada kat market. Bila dah tahu apa keburukan tuala wanita ( dari segi pemprosesan ) memang terus tukar kepada Bio Seleza.
